Our research into Amazon’s capabilities caused us to note the information in “Amazon Rolls Out High Memory Instances for In-Memory Databases.” Many companies want to munch on Big Data. I would point out that certain US government organization have a healthy appetite for the capability as well.
I noted this statement:
The new High Memory EC2 instances offer a choice of 6, 9 and 12 terabytes of memory, with 18TB and 24TB options to arrive next year.

Apple iPhone users will now have their data on phones calls, texts and emails track by Apple so they can be given a ‘trust score.' They claim this data collection will help prevent fraud.
Reflect On:
Is this not just behavioural and user data collection disguised as ‘trying to protect you?' Is this data going to be used to sell you more products? Or maybe sold to other companies? Do we have ANY reason to trust Apple?
ROBERT STEELE: ORACLE has enough cash flow to beat Amazon (which at this time is poised to destroy IBM, Oracle, and Microsoft as well as Google and others). ORACLE appears to lack the imagination and incentive to break away from the same 19th century streamboat that houses IBM DB2, Microsoft SQLServer, and the other Code based systems. All of these data access systems — with Amazon's being far in the lead at this time — cannot deliver the data access reliability, the data integrity, or the data precision. Oracle, which is today where NSA was a quarter century ago on the Thin Thread front (NSA decided it would rather spend stupid than process smart) is simply not making the jump it could make to leap-frog Amazon. Neither ORACLE nor Amazon have solved automated decision making on the data in the cloud nor the obvious need to move beyond data centers. ORACLE has a sales force larger than its technical staff and the same legacy albatross everyone else has (including Amazon, they just have a ten year lead and will collapse ten years after ORACLE).
