Proposal for a Nordic Interagency Intelligence Conference and Centre

A Peace Intelligence Initiative

Introduction

At the conclusion of the recent one-day conference on Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) hosted by the Royal Danish Defence College, a Danish military officer stood up and suggested that the time had come for a Nordic interagency working group on OSINT. I completely agree. The practices of all others are so narrowly focused on military threats and the Internet as the sole source of information that they deprive the Nordic countries of the best available intelligence (decision-support) that can also be fully considered by the public.

Isaac Herzog, member of the Knesset and Chairman of the Israeli Labor party, revealed that Saudi king Salman bin Abdulaziz financed the election campaign of Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu. “In March 2015, King Salman has deposited eighty million dollars to support Netanyahu’s campaign via a Syrian-Spanish person named Mohamed Eyad Kayali. The money was deposited to a company’s account in British Virgin Islands owned by Teddy Sagi, an Israeli billionaire and businessman, who has allocated the money to fund the campaign Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu”, Herzog cited a leaked Panama Paper. Microsoft Says That AI Is Stupid

I know there is a difference among:

  • What senior managers believe about their minions’ innovations
  • What marketers say about the technology the engineer wizards are crafting in the innovation microwave
  • What “real” journalists angling for a job with some tailwind write
  • What the reality of an innovation is, right now.

Editor In Chief Jan H. Kalvik, Defence and Intelligence Norway together with Mr. David Robert Steele (ex CIA) met in Oslo to discuss establishing a Nordic Intelligence Centre.

The Congressional Research Service (CRS) publishes unclassified informational documents for Members of the US Senate and US House of Representatives. It generally avoids prescriptive or critical commentary, but when it seeks to alert Congress to serious problems, it raises “questions for consideration.”

Bibliography on Action-Based Research Methods

Action-based research is about making material and social change during our research, through methods and methodologies, rather than after data has been collected. Some are explicitly activist, while others might be about making more ethical collaborations. Such methods are particularly relevant to discard studies, since our field studies something that is seen as harmful and/or in need of management. A new website called “Action-Based Research Methods” has a bibliography on a wide array of action-based research topics, from quantitative Marxism to participatory mapping.
