CIA fooled in massive counterintelligence failure, former officer writes

The CIA was fooled by scores of double agents pretending to be working for the agency but secretly loyal to communist spy agencies during the Cold War and beyond, according to a former CIA analyst, operations officer, and historian. The large-scale deception included nearly 100 fake CIA recruits in East Germany, Cuba, as well as the Soviet Union (and later Russia) who supplied false intelligence that was passed on to senior U.S. policymakers for decades.

London – It has been mistakenly assumed that ancient diseases are totally eradicated, especially in developed countries. The United Kingdom particularly is now facing a “Victorian” disease epidemic, as cases of tuberculosis, scurvy, cholera, whooping cough, and scarlet fever are rising alarmingly. Experts believe the main causes could be immigration, malnutrition, poverty and lack of access to health care.

ISIS Leader: We Are Funded By The Obama Administration

Yousaf al Salafi, a man believed to be the Pakistani commander of Islamic State (ISIS), claims that confessed that he has been receiving money through the United States. Al-Salafi made his claims during an interrogation by the Pakistani government. Salafi confessed that he “received money to recruit young people to fight in Syria and that the United States paid him $600 a head for anyone that joined.” Michael Flynn, former director of Obama’s Defense Intelligence Agency, said in the months following al Salafi’s admission that he warned the Obama administration three years ago that the groups they were funding in Syria were actually Islamic jihadists.

The ‘electronic Pearl Harbor’
Eighteen years ago I was the first to use that term publicly. It was the wrong analogy then. Not anymore.

The phrase became a touchstone in the long national argument over cybersecurity, for better or worse. I was not the author of the phrase. That honor goes to a dear friend of mine, retired U.S. Air Force Gen. Tom Marsh, who had just led a national commission looking at cyber vulnerabilities. Tom came to my office to summarize the findings and used the Pearl Harbor metaphor.
