It's about ‘combat experiences,' not length of deployment
This Army graph makes crystal clear what many U.S. troops, and their loved ones, have long suspected: the more combat events they experience, the more mental-health problems they will suffer. In fact, according to this illustration from a new Army report, there is a direct linear relationship between combat exposure and resulting mental maladies.
While that notion is hardly surprising, this chart confirms what troops have long believed.
“As would be expected, there is a dose-dependent relationship between levels of combat experiences and well-being indices,” the Army’s just-released ninth Mental Health Advisory Team report says. “This relationship is clearly demonstrated for the percentage of Soldiers meeting screening criteria for any psychological problem.”
After years of debating to what degree repeated deployments and other factors play a role in post-traumatic stress and traumatic brain injuries—and the anxiety, depression and suicidal tendencies they can trigger—this chart indicates that it is the number of combat events, more than the time deployed, that drives up mental-health problems (of course, the two tend to travel together, but not always).
The U.S. military has been plagued by epidemics of mental-health problems since the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq began. The graphic shows that while troops can withstand several of what the Army calls “combat experiences,” their mental armor begins breaking down once they experience 10 or more such events.

Monsanto’s Roundup: new deadly scam exposed
Roundup is the Monsanto herbicide that is touted as the cornerstone of GMO food crops. Monsanto claims these crops are genetically engineered to withstand heavy spraying of Roundup.
Therefore, the crops live and the weeds die. Breakthrough.
There are several key lies associated with these claims—but a new one has surfaced.
A study to be published this month indicts Roundup and, in fact, the general class of insecticides and herbicides. On what grounds? When they’re tested for safety, only the so-called “active ingredients” are examined.
The untested ingredients are called “adjuvants,” and they are said to be inert and irrelevant. But the new study concludes this is far from true. The adjuvants are actually there to INCREASE the killing power of the active ingredient in the herbicide or insecticide.
Safety tests don’t take this into account. “Active ingredients” are already toxic, but the adjuvants ramp up their poisonous nature even higher.
And the worst offender is Roundup.

Pharmaceutical companies must have their new drugs certified as safe and effective before they can enter the market, before doctors can prescribe them. The FDA does this certification. Thumbs up or thumbs down. The drug is okay or it isn’t.

A new hydrogel uses holograms to warn you about your health
This new hydrogel concept uses a simple hydrogel that has been “impregnated” with silver nanoparticles. A specially developed treatment with a laser, just a single short burst upon manufacturing, aligns these silver particles in a three-dimensional hologram.
When the hydrogel comes into contact with certain trigger substances (like glucose, or insulin) it will physically deform relative to the concentration of the chemical. So, a higher blood glucose level results in a more deformed gel — which naturally adjusts the color of the hologram.
This allows the hologram to have analog output of information. That is, it can display not just a binary yes-no on healthy blood glucose, but can slowly darken to let the user know when they are approaching unsafe levels.
