California EPA Moves to Label Monsanto’s Roundup ‘Carcinogenic’

The California Environmental Protection Agency announced today that it plans to label glyphosate — the most widely used herbicide and main ingredient in Monsanto’s Roundup — as a chemical “known to cause cancer.” The World Health Organization’s research arm also recently found that the chemical is probably carcinogenic to humans, and research has also linked glyphosate to the steep decline of monarch butterflies. And as we reported this week, scientists have increasingly raised new alarms about potential negative health impacts tied to Roundup, including a recent study suggesting that long-term exposure to tiny amounts of the chemical (thousands of times lower than what is allowed in drinking water in the US) could lead to liver and kidney problems.

berto smallWhy climate change is Australia's greatest national security issue

They were given 13 threats or potential threats to consider: adverse global trends and challenges to the international system; terrorism and piracy; instability and failed or failing states; poverty, inequality, and poor governance; serious and organised crime; WMD proliferation; climate change; civil emergencies, including natural disasters and pandemics; state-led threats (such as rising powers and balance of power issues); competition for energy and resources; social cohesion; sovereignty issues (including illegal fishing and illegal entry to Australian waters and airspace) and; cyber threats.  They then had to rank them by scale of impact, geographic proximity and urgency in time, and come up with a 1-13 list in order of priority. I don't have the space here to go through the list of outcomes, but the students' calculations based on current intelligence projections indicated that climate change should be our top national security concern.

1 Star Authors Double-Down on Lies Told Previously

I am a co-signer of the below letter to the President of the United States of America from Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity (VIPS), as delivered yesterday and also posted in ConsotiumNews.com by Robert Parry. A better more truthful book, albeit fiction to avoid the legal bru-ha-ha, is Broken!, a story of torture and treason far closer to reality than the version offered by the perpetrators themselves.

Revolutionary 3D Printer Can Build 10 Houses In 24 Hours For Only $5,000 Each

To remedy the housing crisis, as well as the increasing demand for economical and sustainably-produced living spaces, many architects are experimenting with 3D printing.  One such designer is Ma Yihe, the owner of the private firm WinSun. According to BBC News, WinSun managed to produce 10 full-sized, detached single-story houses in just ONE day – a monumental achievement. Based in China, the company used four 10m x 6.6m printers to spray a mixture of cement and construction waste to build the walls, layer by layer. The energy-efficient buildings, as reported by Xinhua news agency, can be produced for as little as $5,000 due to the lack of manual labor and cheap (as well as recycled) materials.

In this exposé, an intrepid group of Florida farmworkers battle to defeat the $4 trillion global supermarket industry through their ingenious Fair Food program, which partners with growers and retailers to improve working conditions for farm laborers in the United States. Food Chains reveals the human cost in our food supply and the complicity of large buyers of produce like fast food and supermarkets. Fast food is big, but supermarkets are bigger – earning $4 trillion globally. They have tremendous power over the agricultural system. Over the past 3 decades they have drained revenue from their supply chain leaving farmworkers in poverty and forced to work under subhuman conditions. Yet many take no responsibility for this.  Learn more.

Gerd-Helmut Komossa

5 stars World-Changing Book

Needs to be translated into English, Russia, and French as soon as possible. He details a 1949 agreement that subordinates Germany as a vassal state to the USA and blindly loyal to any NATO initiative however insane. The agreement supposedly runs for another 90 years. The book needs to be translated into English, Russian, and French as soon as possible. It could and should lead to the fall of the German government, the cancellation of the agrement, the expulsion of all US forces and headquarters from Germany, and the de-Americanicanization if not the complete eradication of NATO. Even if the agreement does not exist — I am inclined to belief the author, that some such agreement does exist — Germany has been acting as an extension of the USA, and the book is a foundation for a national conversation in Germany that could end that state of abject subordination and contributory financial, political, and social crimes against the German people as well as other publics.
