Our children, grandchildren, and all the generations that follow are going to curse us. As the Republicans in the senate and the house, and their Theocratic Right base block any meaningful action on climate change, and Obama is reduced to doing what he can through executive order, our world is slipping away. The changes are going to be mind-boggling. Here is just one aspect of what is coming. Miami, as this story makes clear, is doomed. As Ha! rold Wanless, the chairman of the department of geological sciences at the University of Miami says, “It's not a question of if. It's a question of when.”

NIGHTWATCH: Pakistan to Execute Musharraf? Saudi Nuts Over Syria? US & Saudi Arabia Primary Spnsors of Destabilization in Africa?

Pakistan: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Tuesday named former president Pervez Musharraf as the prime suspect in the December 2007 assassination of ex-prime minister Benazir Bhutto.

The head of the FIA's Joint Investigation Team, Deputy Director Khalid Rasool, told the Rawalpindi Anti-Terrorism Court that Musharraf “hatched” a criminal conspiracy to cause a breach in Bhutto's security detail that directly led to her murder. His motive was to secure his rule, Rasool's filing said.

The Anti-Terrorism Court Special Judge summoned Musharraf to appear for a hearing on 2 July.

Comment: Just before her assassination Bhutto expressed to friends her concern about an assassination plot involving Musharraf and three other senior officials at the time. They include former head of Pakistani intelligence, Hamid Gul. Eventually all those involved in the conspiracy are likely to be brought to trial.

This is the third active case against Musharraf that could lead to his execution. A fourth potential capital case is the treason accusation that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif mentioned yesterday. That case has not yet begun.

The times, as Bob Dylan wrote, “are a`changin.”  Conspiracy theories about journalist Michale Hastings' death – or murder – now have now been pumped out via “mainstream” vehicles, such as Huff Post, without it being just another exercise for bashing conspiracy theories with ridicule and rejection under the at-times hallucinatory influence of maximum prejudice and minimal knowledge. Maybe this change is due to mainstream media finding itself unable to continue freezing out serious consideration of conspiracies because of what someone wrote on this blog called the difficulty of distinguishing reality from conspiracy theories anymore. The video below was filmed by a small/committed group attempting to resurrect the work of Eric Dollard: a brilliant inventor and electrical engineer who like Tesla before him has been used and abused by the establishment throughout his life.

Recently a Civil Engineer named David Witekind mortgaged his home and maxed out several credit cards to set up Eric in a new lab. David's sacrifice represents the extent that people believe in E.D. and the importance of his work. Further funding for Eric's efforts was also raised through a recent/successful IndieGoGo campaign. Anyone who is interested in the energy future of our planet needs to investigate this story further. A bright spot in an otherwise bleak news cycle dominated by endless NSA melodrama.

5. CONCLUSION

The phenomenon of the swing of Salafism/Wahhabism into terrorism is not monolithic, but is divided on the grounds of realities, historical context and local customs. Similarly, we must take into account the relatively low importance of boundaries between States that most often deal with various ethnic and religious ensembles.

The impact on the war in Afghanistan on the emergence of Salafist jihadism is a well-known phenomenon and it’s a safe bet that the current conflict in Northern Mali will have consequences on the entire Sahel. Not to mention, in the case of Mali, the weight of the “tradition” of Ghazi, the warrior who participate in an operation against “infidels” and thereby contribute to jihad and traffic of all kinds that marked Saharan nomads and semi-nomads.
