Project 4636 Revisited: The Updated Info Graphic
UPDATE: Since this graphic was published, a few additional clarifications have come to light. Please see Robert’s comment for more details.

Shortly after we posted the original Project 4636 info graphic, a few folks involved in the project got in touch to see if we could clarify the process. There are a lot of moving parts,  many of which are constantly changing, and so the original graphic didn’t quite reflect the exact process as well as it could have. With that in mind, we worked with Josh Nesbit of Frontline SMS Medic and Nicolás di Tada of InSTEDD to make sure the graphic reflected the process as accurately as possible. The biggest update that we made is that InSTEDD’s Nuntium SMS Gateway and the Thomson Reuters Foundation Emergency Information System are now the first entities that receive and process incoming SMS’s.  Everything else is pretty much the same.

COMMENT: IMHO, incredibly irresponsible behavior by UK judicial system.  However, I really wonder whether USG will really degrade the special relationship because I suspect it would be cutting our nose off to spite our face.  While I think we have clear dominance in some intelligence disciplines and coverages, I also think the UK dances rings around us in others.    Marcus

Intelligence ties between UK and US in jeopardy

By DAVID STRINGER The Associated Press

Thursday, February 11, 2010; 7:32 PM

LONDON — Intelligence ties between London and Washington have been jeopardized by a British court's disclosure that a terrorism suspect was beaten and shackled in U.S. custody, diplomats and security officials said Wednesday.

. . . . . . .

“This is more serious than the Cambridge spy ring, this is more serious than Robert Hanssen,” said Bob Ayers, a London-based former U.S. intelligence officer. “This has the potential to be far more damaging.”

COMMENT:  I know senior retired military officers who object to highlighting political corruption and ethical shortfalls.  Marcus

Phi Beta Iota: Sadly, the raw fact is that until we get the truth on the table and achieve transparency, the corrupt few will continue to be a cancer in the body politic.  Judicial Watch is a serious accredited non-profit and renders a public service.  This is a time de-limited list, focused on the current “public servants” in power, and it therefore does not include the many equally pernicious qualified individuals from the other party monopolizing the power to loot the public purse.  Visit the source to read the full indictment for names as listed.

Phi Beta Iota: We first displayed a post on the US cheating others with gold wrapped around tungsten on 18 November 2009, at Journal: Fake Gold Bars from China to India, Made in the USA–Federal Reserve and Bank of NY Accused–Meanwhile, Prison Planet and Bullion Vault Say No.  The story is now resurfacing, and in the course of looking it over (with some skepticism, but confident that the matter has not been properly investigated by the US Government which is evidently culpable on multiple fronts.

Is the Dollar “Good as Tungsten”? (FOFAO,November 15, 2009)

This is the best overall summary we have found, with devastating looks at Larry Summers' past published speculation on how manipulating the gold price downwards could improve the value of Treasury issues, the connections with Alan Greenspan, Robert Rubin–it all hangs together and is elegantly brought together.

Although this search brings up two relevant hits, Jack Davis, de facto dean of intelligence analytic tradecraft, is one of perhaps ten people at CIA that we absolutely hold in the highest regard.  Here are all of the links, the first one being the specific report you are looking for.  Searching on the web for “analytic tradecraft” is also interesting.  Here it is better to search for <jack davis>.
