They describe the people as being over here, their problems being over there, and then the system that you can use to solve the problems as this other third thing somewhere else that exists separately. I am dismayed by the drama being played out in London where Julian Assange is very ill after seven years confinement in a very small space. Given the value of WikiLeaks as both a concept and as an explicit indictment of Hillary Clinton sufficient to put her and her beloved Huma Abedin in prison for all eternity, I find it difficult to comprehend why President Donald Trump has not sent an executive jet for Assange, and his personal White House doctor — or even better, the same medical aircraft used to bring John Kerry home when he broke his leg. In the grand scheme of things Assange is at least a “bishop” in the war against the Deep State.

The America in which I grew up and lived my early adult life was a nation. Over the course of my life I have watched my country turn into a Tower of Babel. Homogeneity and shared values permitted us to understand one another.

. . . .

Police were helpful and didn’t burst into homes with guns blazing or rough you up on traffic stops. On important issues, compromises could be reached and reforms implemented. English was the language.
