Halliburton is one, Monsanto is another. One of the skills these corporations focus on is maintaining high level government connections, and to get your executives in senior positions. So great is the corruption of our government as a result that, as this report de! scribes, the regulatory agencies created to oversee these corporations are tailored to the corporation's wishes.

A new report estimates the cost of mitigating the effects of climate change could rise by as much as 40% if action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions is delayed 10 years – immediately outweighing any potential savings of a delay.

The White House’s Council of Economic Advisers, U.S. President Barack Obama’s source for advice on economic policy, compared over 100 actions on climate change laid out in 16 studies to extract the average cost of delayed efforts. Released Tuesday, the findings suggests policymakers should immediately confront carbon emissions as a form of ‘climate insurance.”

University of Colorado Boulder Scientists Link 10,800-Foot-Deep Fracking Wastewater Well to More than 200 Earthquakes

When the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission ordered NGL Water Solutions to stop fracking wastewater injection operations a month ago, a team of University of Colorado Boulder researchers began conducting its own investigation.

NGL, formerly known as High Sierra Water Services, was given permission to resume its activities at a 10,800-foot-deep well a few weeks later, but the CU findings suggest that shouldn’t have happened. Anne Sheehan and her team found that the well is linked to more than 200 earthquakes, the geophysics professor in the CU Department of Geological Sciences told Boulder County Business Report.

I completely endorse this view, never mind that the author cites me as one of three who maintain the public will no longer stand for global inequality. I have long said that we in the USA have erred in substituting technology for thinking, and I have long felt that the intelligence profession has lost touch with ethics, humanity, and purpose. Open Source Everything (OSE) is about transparency, truth, and trust — not to be found among most technologists, none of whom have a clue what “true cost economics” actually means. Kudos to WIRED for nailing the naked tech Emperor to the wall by his foreskin.
