AFA urges companies to sever their SPLC ties – see our newspaper ad
Now, the SPLC's hate for cash machine has been described from within as a “highly profitable scam.” Its founder Morris Dees was fired, its president Richard Cohen has resigned, and its top lawyer departed as the scandal spread.
We've placed a full page ad in the Wall Street Journal calling on these tech titans to sever their SPLC ties.

Algorithms: Thresholds and Recycling Partially Explained
Several observations:
- The bias in methods goes back before I showed up at the university computer center to use the keypunch machines. Way back in fact.
- Developers today rely on copy and paste, open source, and the basic methods taught by professors who may be thinking about their side jobs as consultants.
- Training data may be skewed, and no one wants to spend the money or take the time to create training data. Why bother? Just use whatever is free, cheap, or already on a storage device. Close enough for horseshoes.
- Users do not know [a] what’s going on behind the point and click interfaces, nor do most users care. As a result, a good graphic is “correct.”

World’s Largest Quantum Computer Doubles Down
The world's largest maker of quantum computers, Canada's D-Wave Systems Inc., recently announced the Pegasus generation of its quantum computers, featuring 2.5 times the qubits (more than 5,000) than its predecessor, as well as the elimination of a major stumbling block to commercialization by directly connecting each of those qubits to three times as many nearby qubits as its previous generation, the Chimera.
Analysts are predicting that Pegasus will advance quantum applications down the technology lifetime exponential growth curve.

Mind control technologies and techniques are all around us, and I suspect we saw the “application” of one such technique last Monday with the sad event in Paris. But imagine being able to stage an event, and then be able to manipulate how one interprets and “feels” about it. Of course, that ability, too, has been part of the arsenal for some time, and it's called “television.”
