Phi Beta Iota: In another change to its story, to prove that Bin Laden had in fact been “captured,” the White House today released a photo of Bin Laden with Condi Rice at a safehouse maintained by the Department of State at the South-Central Complex between State and the new US Institute for Peace building. Condi remains Bin Laden's closest ally within Washington circles where both Republicans and Democrats agree: Bin Laden has been the single best bi-partisan brand in decades. The White House did not appear to notice the inconsistency between this photograph and its earlier refusal to publish a photograph of the allegedly dead Bin Laden. Source
In addition, it has now been revealed that the below photograph, previously alleged to be in the situation room with the Bin Laden kill operations on screen, was actually taken at the conclusion of a very hard-fought battle over changes in Old Executive Office Building (OEOB) room assignments. Hillary Clinton is reacting to the announcement that the Indian Treaty Room is now the Boy's Club with cigar smoking permitted at all times.

I came across the attached sample from a recently published e-book, highlighted on a Competitive Intelligence (CI) blog I regularly follow.
This Eric Garland is on the Phi Beta Iota wavelength — I clearly see where the threats and developments he is most concerned about segue very closely to your own. Additionally, his analyses are very grounded — and although I am not a CI-professional myself, having served as a government intelligence professional for the whole of my career, I can confidently say that his analytic approach and reasoned insights represent the best-in-class in intelligence analysis, something I have rarely — if ever — observed while serving in the public sector (to our shame).
His sarcastic and somewhat sardonic delivery of these so-called “tips” are entertaining, educational, and unfortunately all-too disturbingly accurate in their portrayal of the decision making process (if you could even call it that) of our senior leadership.
I highly recommend this sample for reading. I found it both enjoyable and meaningful — and best of all — its simplicity is it's greatest strength.

Following a week of political unrest, capped off by Friday’s organized pro-democracy uprising across the USA, President Barack Obama dismissed his Cabinet on Saturday and stepped before television cameras calling for an end to the protests.
But he stopped short of resigning—as his people were demanding. They blame him for poverty, unemployment, widespread corruption and police brutality including over a dozen internment camps for “disobedient citizens” carried over from his predecessor's “homeland security” program.
On Saturday, protestors throughout the world including outside the United Nations in New York were also calling for Obama's resignation. By day’s end, dozens of protestors had been killed and dozens more injured. Then the military stepped in closing roads and sending F-16 fighter jets over downtown Washington. Ron Paul, while refusing to talk to Ralph Nader or Cynthia McKinney or anyone else, asked the crowd to remain non-violent but persistent.
“My impression is that a revolutionary process has begun that might be impossible to stop—so I believe that the 30-year two-party tyranny has outlived its pretensions,” said Dr. Alfred Gerteiny of Westport, a retired professor of American studies and author of The Terrorist Conjunction (Praeger Security International). “It took the uprising in Tunisia and Egypt to lead me to posit that a domino effect will probably ensue, involving America as well.”
In related news, a US inquiry on Thursday found that the 2008 financial crisis could have been prevented and that many of the conditions that led to Wall Street's near collapse have yet to be addressed. The findings could also lead to some people in the financial world facing criminal charges for the failures that led to the turmoil. The 10-member Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission, created in May 2009 by…read more
Extract: ‘Our financial system is, in many respects, still unchanged from what existed on the eve of the crisis,' the report said. ‘Indeed, in the wake of the crisis, the US financial sector is now more concentrated than ever in the hands of a few large, systemically significant institutions.' While much of its findings have already been well documented by others, the panel painted a gloomy picture of questionable ethics, irresponsibility and incompetence by Wall Street bankers who dabbled in the US housing market using complex financial products that few of them could understand.
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez on Sunday called for an orderly transition in the US to a government that reflects the aspirations of the American people. The president spoke by telephone with world and Western Hemisphere leaders about the situation in the US.
Mr. Chavez received “multiple updates” throughout the day from his staff.
Demonstrators outside the US Embassy in Caracas were sympathetic to the American people.
“American people are looking for freedom. We don't look for any crazy extremists to run the country,” said Fulano.
“All we need from Wall Street is just to stop supporting corrupt governments. That's all. We don't need anything else. Just stop supporting corrupt governments,” said Abdul.
In a related statement, German Chancellor Angela Merkel called for a peaceful transition to democracy in the US. Speaking live on CNN,Merkel said the “complex, very difficult” situation in the US requires careful progress toward a peaceful transition to democracy, rather than any sudden or violent change that could undermine the aspirations of the American people.
“We want to see this peaceful uprising on the part of the American people to demand their rights to be responded to in a very clear, unambiguous way by the government, and then a process of national dialogue that will lead to the changes that the American people seek and that they deserve,” she said.
“Electoral Reform is a good place to start,” she concluded. According to senior staff, the European Union is preparing for the possibility that the transition government in the US will seek assistance in implementing Electoral Reform, and in monitoring the legitimacy of any subsequent elections.
