Phi Beta Iota: August 2010 is also when the “Strategic Narrative” out of the office of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (C/JCS) began to circulate. It is quite clear that this Presidential Directive must now be made public and that Congressional hearings should be held on both the Directive, and the possibility that a) Leon Panetta lied to the President and b) that the President was mis-led and over-ruled by the military-industrial complex with proponency from Hillary Clinton and Bob Gates. Phi Beta Iota: Debka is not questioning the “fact of” Bin Laden's existence, we are. What Debka does provide is a marvelous context for understanding both why the US Administration blew it on the Arab Spring it neither anticipated nor understood, and why CIA has been given so much lattitude. The big question–and the Presidential Study Directive 11 of August 2010 will be helpful–is the degree to which the President of the USA has been an unwitting dupe or a full participant in what we believe to the hoax of the century.

An eyewitness of Pakistan said, “We are not fools, it's America, and the dirty American policies. Whenever they want to take control of an area, they act this way. Osama was never here, America wants to destroy the image of the Pakistan army.”

If I wasn't 100% convinced before that the killing of bin Laden was a hoax, with these newly released claims of confirmation by Al Qaeda, I am now.

Phi Beta Iota: What is astonishing is that nominally intelligent organizations such as DiscoveryNews have difficulty grasping the reality of a hoax that relies on Bin Laden's having been dead all these years, not producing the unarmed body, and then faking the Al Qaeda announcement. We are not 100% certain but we are assuredly 80% certain that this was a hoax and the US Government should be investigated by independent authorities. If it was a hoax, it is an impeachable event. Bill Clinton was impeached for lying about oral sex from a chubby intern. Surely the truth of this matter is a bit more important.

Too little too late. A couple of trillion $$ and ten years late. Too little in that we got a corpse instead of a captive, when there was an opportunity to take him alive (or “mostly dead” if you get the reference).

In all, we got more of a PR stunt than an actual historical event. Why? A trial could be cathartic and that is dangerous. It would reveal the gap between demonization and reality. It would also deflate the fear bubble.

Fear was/is so useful in making the defense and homeland security dollars flow (at levels beyond reason) and perpetuating the government's emergency powers.

Bin Laden Show 19: White House Photo Ops

Phi Beta Iota: In another change to its story, to prove that Bin Laden had in fact been “captured,” the White House today released a photo of Bin Laden with Condi Rice at a safehouse maintained by the Department of State at the South-Central Complex between State and the new US Institute for Peace building. Condi remains Bin Laden's closest ally within Washington circles where both Republicans and Democrats agree: Bin Laden has been the single best bi-partisan brand in decades. The White House did not appear to notice the inconsistency between this photograph and its earlier refusal to publish a photograph of the allegedly dead Bin Laden. Source

In addition, it has now been revealed that the below photograph, previously alleged to be in the situation room with the Bin Laden kill operations on screen, was actually taken at the conclusion of a very hard-fought battle over changes in Old Executive Office Building (OEOB) room assignments. Hillary Clinton is reacting to the announcement that the Indian Treaty Room is now the Boy's Club with cigar smoking permitted at all times.

White House Insider: Obama Hesitated – Panetta Issued Order to Kill Osama Bin Laden

I have been told by more than one source that Leon Panetta was directing the operation with both his own CIA operatives, as well as direct contacts with military – both entities were reporting to Panetta only at this point, and not the President of the United States. There was not going to be another delay as had happened 24 hour earlier. The operation was at this time effectively unknown to President Barack Obama or Valerie Jarrett and it remained that way until AFTER it had already been initiated. President Obama was literally pulled from a golf outing and escorted back to the White House to be informed of the mission. Upon his arrival there was a briefing held which included Bill Daley, John Brennan, and a high ranking member of the military. When Obama emerged from the briefing, he was described as looking “very confused and uncertain.” The president was then placed in the situation room where several of the players in this event had already been watching the operation unfold. Another interesting tidbit regarding this is that the Vice President was already “up to speed” on the operation. A source indicated they believe Hillary Clinton had personally made certain the Vice President was made aware of that day’s events before the president was. The now famous photo released shows the particulars of that of that room and its occupants. What that photo does not communicate directly is that the military personnel present in that room during the operation unfolding, deferred to either Hillary Clinton or Robert Gates. The president’s role was minimal, including their acknowledging of his presence in the room.

In my initial communication to you of these events I described what unfolded as a temporary Coup initiated by high ranking intelligence and military officials. I stand by that term.
