My summoned review of this book: “the most interesting one of the MH saga”.
In this book you can find the most revealing information about this human race. While I was reading this book, a long sleeping memory re-ignited in my head: I ALSO met these people !! No joke I swear, this fisonomy matches exactly to that of 4 people that came across my hometown about 35 years ago:
On july 1975 (perhaps 1976) my family spent vacations in a little village named “Chera”, here in Spain located some 70 km inland from East coast (Valencia).
My uncle startled stood up during the street-laid supper and voiced: “what the heck is that thing”, spotting what he said “looked like a flying bus”.
Effectively all of us could see about 3000 feet high and 3 miles away, an strange object cruising from east to west in utter silence. This sighting was at roughly 11 pm and lasted for no more than 30 secongs. This place is sorrounded by mountains and the object soon hid behind a ridge.
Before I begin my review, let me clarify that I have only a moderate curiosity in UFO's and such. I'm not a skeptic or a believer, but someone who sees a field of study that's intriguing, impossible to flat-out dismiss, and at the very least entertaining. Nevertheless I did pick up this book and read it. Here are my thoughts:
Many skeptics ask, “If the government DOES know something about aliens and UFOs, why, and how, do they keep it secret from everyone else?”
Col. Corso's book gives a sober and convincing explanation for this. Rather than giving a broad overview, however, he wisely sticks to a specific description of his own hands-on experience and how he did the job he was asked to do. Specifically, as head of the Army's Foreign Technology Desk in the Pentagon, Corso alleges he was in charge of “getting something useful” out of alien artifacts collected from the Roswell UFO crash in 1947.
Corso was faced with a challenge: How do you gather funding and personnel (many of whom are low-ranking) for a US Army R&D project on the Roswell UFO artifacts, while using “normal,” visible administrative channels, and keep it a secret from other branches of the government and even many of the individuals directly involved?
If there's a single Founding Father of the Open Source movement, Robert D. Steele is it. Everyone else has been playing catchup. And if you don't know what the Open Source revolution is, you need to read this book. You don't even need to know why! You need to buy it, read it, and then you'll *know* why. No other book on Open Source can open your eyes the way this one can. That's because there's no potential use of Open Source intelligence that Steele hasn't anticipated. Collective Intelligence is coming! It's an unstoppable force. And it will change everything. So if you like to know about things like that in advance, you need to buy this book.
The information age that was created by personal computers was just a kiddie car with a squeaky horn. By comparison, the open source revolution is a freight train. Its potential to change your world is orders of magnitude greater. This is not hyperbole. In fact superlatives can't begin to express the ground-shaking potential of this next wave of human evolution.
A Gem–Easy to Read, A Foundation Book for World Brain and Global Game, May 22, 2011
I bought this book on a whim, sensing that despite its 1946 publication date it might be inspirational and I have been *very* glad to go through this. It was a half-century ahead of its time. This book, which does cite H.G. Wells and World Brain (Adamantine Classics for the 21st Century), is a wonderful core reading for any age including high school but certainly going all the way to PhD programs. I consider it a SUPERB start to any semester of dialog in this domain.

Noosphere: The Next Stage in the Evolution of Human Consciousness, A Testimony
To mark the recent passing of José Argüelles, we offer an excerpt from his upcoming book Manifesto for the Noosphere: The Next Stage in the Evolution of Human Consciousness, available from Evolver Editions/North Atlantic Books in October 2011.
EXCERPT:
We must enlarge our approach to encompass the formation taking place before our eyes … of a particular biological entity such as has never existed on earth-the growth, outside and above the biosphere, of an added planetary layer, an envelope of thinking substance, to which, for the sake of convenience and symmetry, I have given the name of the Noosphere. –Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, The Future of Man
Manifesto for the Noosphere is the result of forty years of study, contemplation, investigation, and synthesis. While the noosphere may be beyond the grasp of conventional science, it is a deep and pervasive intuition that has gripped the minds of scientists, philosophers, poets, and artists since the concept first emerged in 1926. It is an evolutionary concept posited by studies in both biogeochemistry and paleontology. It is a whole-systems paradigm that melds prophecy and analysis of current world trends. It is a perception that the transformation of the biosphere is inevitably leading to a new geological epoch and evolutionary cycle, and it is due to the impact of human thought on the environment that this new era — the Noosphere — is dawning.

This is a world-class film, exquisitely produced and thoughtfully scripted. This is the real deal and is consistent with everything that has been poking into the public consciousness for decades.
US started trying to shoot them down in 1952–this is about as smart as the Spanish declaring any indigenous peoples who did not speak Spanish to be heathens subject to enslavement. Lost so many pilots the order finally rescinded in 1954 or so.
Many excellent interviews with a range of serious people.
The Roswell alien crash was directly associated with US early nuclear endeavors probably being “scouted” by concerned aliens.
Most disturbing is the lengths that US and UK governments went to drug and otherwise disorient and silence direct witnesses who were not “cleared” to be aware of extra-terrestial matters.
Brazilian and Russian reports suggest alien activity in “containing” effects of early nuclear explosions.
Mexico is so focused that a two-hour prime time show covers UFOs once a week.
Norway has world's only full-time UFO spotting and assessing station (Hessdalen)
Excellent discussion of both alien collection (e.g. two ton slab of earth cut and lifted with no evidence of heavy equipment) and alien concern over Homo Sapiens combination of nuclear weapons, violent nature, and early space exploration. Specific discussion of alien interventions to cause offensive missile malfunction as well as “shut down” of missiles on alert….
Relationship of media to intelligence explored in a very negative manner–fast forward to 9/11! National Enquirer bought out by CIA front company to sensationalize and marginalize extra-terrestial material.
Bleeding-edge thinking is that Homo Sapiens is a hybrid possibly altered from earliest days of emergence. Covers abductions, surgical procedures, samples with focus on reproductive organs. Babies, toddlers described in various forms of human to alien mixtures. Abductees who have children see the children abducted in turn, as if the aliens are doing generational studies.
As many as 60 distinct alien “types” are believed to exist, playing many different roles across many different types of human groups and activities.
“Truth Embargo” implemented 62 years ago is coming to an end. Classification is an obstacle, and especially so in NASA of all places. The truth will come out. This is the story of the Millenium. It will change virtually every paradigm across every science *and* (even more importantly) our cosmic/social paradigms.
A “must see” film.

Review Deleted By Amazon, Reconstructed from Memory
July 20, 2010
C. D. B. Bryan
I read and reviewed this book when it came out in hard-copy, and I continue to be very annoyed with Amazon for its policy of deleting best in class reviews from the past so as to encourage new reviewers–they would be better off deleting the least useful review, but they seem motivated by a desire to give the new reviewers a chance to achieve rankings (hence, deleting least useful reviews does not meet the need, but deleted high value reviews of high performance reviewers does).
What I remember most clearly from the book is CONSISTENCY. Across all the encounters, all the accounts, all the investigations, there was a distinct, scientifically-validated consistency in all of the descriptions, effects, etcetera. This was the first book I was able to find that combined reputable scientific inquiry with a massive cross-section of stories from around the world, and that impressed me greatly.
